library of fiction written by the users on the forums. As I stated previously, "Fanfics
are the 3rd greatest thing on the planet, next to my dog Wish and myself, and
barely beating out metal."

Please, heed this warning: material contained within the fanfiction section may
not be suitable for minors or people at work dicking around on the internet.
Anything marked NC-17 is not suitable for
well... anyone under 17. This can and probably will contain graphic descriptions
of some things you may not want to read about. So steer clear of anything marked
NC-17 and you'll be just fine.

Ratings and Warnings
On my fanfiction pages, you'll see many warnings listed below a
fanfic. These are basic precautions as to what the fic contains. Here, I'll list
some of the warnings you may see and what they mean:
Complete - Multi-chaptered fic is complete.
Oneshot - This is a one-chaptered fanfic. If you don't see this or
"complete", it's a multi-chaptered fic in progress.
Het - Fic contains a heterosexual [man and woman] relationship.
Slash - Fic contains a homosexual relationship.
Crossover - Fic mixes its fandom with another. Meaning, you may see
Pokémon in the Digimon universe or something.
PWP - Porn without plot. This fanfic exists to turn you on and not much
else.
Spoilers - Contains spoilers -- details of important plot points for the
fandom's canon. If you haven't watched/read/whatever the entire thing, you may
not be prepared to read.
AU - Alternate universe, not all rules to the canon directly apply.
Crack - This fanfic is a crackfic.
Lemon - Fic contains explicit sex.
| After all the warnings in a fanfic, you'll see
a rating [unless it's all-ages appropriate]. They are next to the warnings
to indicate if you should be looking at it if you're dicking around at work
or something. Anyway, here's what may be contained within a fanfic of a
certain rating: |
All ages [no rating listed]
May still contain slash, but generally, few curse words are present if
any, no sexual content, I think the worst thing in one of these may be a
punch to the arm and a kiss. There is no difference between PG and G here. |
T-Rating
Teen rating. Equivalent of PG-13 in the movies. Some sexual content without
actual sex, some cursing and innuendos, horror, and some drug/alcohol use. |
R-Rating
Just like in the movies, R is for "restricted". Basically, more intense
T-rating, turned up cursing, innuendos, gore, and drugs/alcohol. Actual sex
can be included but not graphically described. |
NC-17-Rating
I'm sure you've heard the phrase "X-Rating" before, well, this is
exactly the same thing. Graphic sex, including more unusual sex acts,
psychologically tormenting violence and bloodshed; basically, everything
your mother doesn't want you to be reading. |
Less common warnings:
Death - A character dies in this fanfic.
Mpreg - Male pregnancy.
Song - Fic is a songfic. Does not apply if song lyrics are used in the
fic but the song isn't the main focus.
Beast - Contains beastiality. In the Pokémon or other monster fandoms,
may also apply to romance between human and pokémon.
Non-con - Non-consent, AKA rape.
Gore - Contains explicit gore. Like describing someone's insides and
shit.
Shouta - One of the partners involved is a young boy.
Loli - One of the partners involved is a young girl.
Squick - Sexual content or a pairing that won't turn you on. Or at least,
it's not likely to.
Vore - Contains vore, which includes cannibalism. Basically, creatures
eating one another or something to that effect.
Before I have to put up an FAQ page for this one question, no, there is no
"language" warning, because all of MW uses coarse language, so seeing it on one
of our fanfics shouldn't bother you. And if it does, go to a public school.
